Conan: The Embers of Gwaella Fan Comic made for a project in my MFA.

Based on the first months of World War 1 and the veteran’s war stories from it that would influence Robert E. Howard’s writing, Conan and The Embers of Gwaella tells when Conan the Barbarian saw the future of war.

I became fascinated with Louis the 9th in early 2019.

Louis was well regarded and earned the moniker of St.Louis, deified for his contributions to the Catholic Church, the reformation of France’s laws to be more lenient, and his charitable work. He was also responsible for possibly the biggest military blunder of the 13th century, the Seventh Crusade, where the Ayyubid sultanate captured him after a failed invasion of Egypt. Louis iX was held for 1/3 of France’s wealth, such a large sum the phrase“a King’s Ransom” was coined.
